Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj has admitted Louis van Gaal's favoured system does not suit him.
The Belgian winger has struggled for game time under the Dutchman having made an impact at Old Trafford under previous manager David Moyes.
The 19-year-old made 35 appearances last term but has made just 14 so far this season. Not even a place on the bench could be found for Januazaj during last night's FA Cup replay against Cambridge.
There were reports that he would leave on loan during the January transfer window with both Everton and PSG mooted as possible destinations, but Van Gaal is understood to have blocked a move, instead wanting the youngster to fight for his place at Old Trafford. But that might be difficult admits Januazaj.
"The system really can make it more difficult for me to play there but I have to keep working," he said.
"That is what I am doing in training every day, as I want to get more games this season."
He continued: "My favourite position is as a No 10 or a winger. There are lots of players here and I can play in different roles – it’s just a case of taking my opportunities.
"I’m not really a wing-back. It's harder for me because there is more defending involved and I’m not really a defender."
