The impact Anthony Martial has made at Manchester United has been remarkable.

After the widespread scoffing at the huge fee Manchester United paid for the 19-year-old and all the talk of pressure on his young shoulders, he's been superb.

Not only have his three goals in two Premier League games been brilliantly taken, the stats around them highlight just what a great start he's made at Old Trafford.

His three goals make him the club's top scorer. They also mean he's scored just one less goal in the Premier League than the entire Manchester United squad at Louis van Gaal's disposal. Between them they've scored four, with Adnan Januzaj who is out on loan, getting one other.

In two games Martial has scored more than many of the most recognised strikers in the Premier League. Among them are Christian Benteke, Olivier Giroud, Sergio Aguero, Diego Costa and Harry Kane.

The current top scorers in the division are Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City and Callum Wilson of Bournemouth, who both have five goals. But despite those two players being the stand-out players of the season so far, neither can match Martial's ratio of goals to minutes. The young Frenchman has scored once every 39 minutes he's been on a pitch. In comparison, that stat is 94 minutes for Mahrez and 105 minutes for Wilson.

Despite his fantastic start at United, Gary Neville is yet to be convinced: "Could he step up from being a 15 [goals] in 70 [appearances] man (his record at Monaco) to a one in two man? Can he get to that level? Difficult," said the former United captain.

But he added: "He's made a big impression on all of us."
