Arsenal have managed to escape from the international break relatively unscathed and, in fact, saw four players return to reserve team action on Tuesday.

Danny Welbeck picked up a minor knee injury while impressing for Roy Hodgson's England during the 4-0 win over Lithuania on Friday night.

He withdrew from the squad but the injury isn't believed to be too serious, with Arsene Wenger to give a full update later this week.

Wenger was handed a much needed boost on Tuesday afternoon when four first-team players returned to action in an Arsenal XI against Brentford.

Jack Wilshere, Mathieu Debuchy, Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby all played in a 4-0 win against a Brentford side.

Wilshere and Arteta have both been out since November, Debuchy has not played since early January with a shoulder problem, while Diaby has not appeared since September.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another who has been suffering with a hamstring injury but he is in line to return against Liverpool on Saturday.
