Arsenal injury news: Mesut Ozil to return on Sunday against Hull, but Arsene Wenger doubts Abou Diaby will play again this season

£42.5m German playmaker has been out since March with a hamstring injury

Mesut Ozil will boost Arsenal's quest for fourth by returning from injury to face Hull City on Sunday, manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

The £42.5m playmaker, who joined from Real Madrid on transfer deadline day in September, has been out since 11 March after suffering a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Wenger, though, after watching his side defeat West Ham 3-1 to move up to fourth, said the German "should be available" for the trip to KC Stadium.

The perennially-injured midfielder, Abou Diaby, who has been sidelined for a whole year, will return to training on Thursday, but the manager doubts whether he will be able to feature at all this season.

"Abou is back in full training on Thursday," Wenger revealed. "It's very difficult to say [if he will play this season] because he has not played for over a year now, and it's very difficult for me [to decide]. He looks physically fine, but he has to play one or two games before I consider bringing him back."
