Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be out of action for around six weeks as opposed to the six months originally feared, the Arsenal manager, Arsène Wenger, has confirmed.
A scan revealed that the 20-year-old was unlikely to require surgery on the knee problem sustained in Saturday's defeat to Aston Villa.
Wenger said: "He will be out for at least six weeks with a posterior cruciate problem, the ligament is stretched. We don't think it will need surgery."
Nacho Monreal returns after a back problem while Bacary Sagna, Kieran Gibbs and Tomas Rosicky are also available.
