This weekend sees Arsenal and Liverpool come up against each other in a fixture that could have a major bearing on who will be playing Champions League football next season.
It is a case of make or break for Liverpool who currently sit in fifth place, six points behind the Gunners.
A win could see them close the gap on Arsenal to just three points and give them an outside chance of overhauling the north London side in the remaining seven games of the season.
A loss would all but end Liverpool’s Champions League hopes, seeing them drop nine points behind Arsenal and eight points behind north-west rivals Manchester United, assuming they beat Aston villa at Old Trafford on Saturday. The Gunners will take themselves to 63 points with a win, and go a long way to ensuring them a Champions League spot, as well as putting the pressure on Manchester City and Chelsea who sit one and seven points above them respectively.
Arsenal are currently the Premier League’s in-form team having won seven in a row, helped partly by the goalscoring endeavours of Olivier Giroud who has eight in his last seven matches.
However, despite their loss to Manchester United last time out, Liverpool come into the clash in their own rich vein of form having lost only three in their last 15 games, and being unbeaten in six games away from home.
