Tottenham Hotspur could all-but secure their place in the Premier League top-four on Tuesday evening as they travel to Brighton and Hove Albion.

A victory against Chris Hughton’s men could potentially put Spurs 10 points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea with only four games left to play. It would also see them join Liverpool on 70 points.

The Seagulls, meanwhile, also have vital points at stake as they battle to stave off the threat of relegation. They could go 10 points clear of the drop zone with their first Premier League victory since early March.

Both teams. Spurs could pretty much rubber-stamp their inclusion in next year’s Champions League with a victory, a vital aspect as they move into their new home next season.

After losing three out of their last four games, Brighton have been dragged back into the relegation battle. A victory however could see them all-but secure consecutive Premier League campaigns for the first time ever.

Tottenham Hotspur have not lost to a newly-promoted Premier League side since April 2012. That defeat came against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road. Former Spurs’ midfielder Adel Taarabt scored the winning goal against a side then managed by Harry Redknapp.
