Jose Mourinho has left John Terry on the bench for today's lunchtime kick-off against Arsenal.

The Chelsea captain, who also sat out of the midweek Champions League fixture against Maccabi Tel Aviv, sees Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill start ahead of him.

Nemanja Matic, Diego Costa and Branislav Ivanovic, who were all rested for the Maccabi game, return to the side.

Arsenal drop Olivier Giroud to the bench after his reckless sending-off against Dinamo Zagreb in midweek. Theo Walcott starts up front in his place, while Aaron Ramsey comes in for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Petr Cech, as expected, returns to play against his former club. Francis Coquelin replaces Mikel Arteta, while Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal start in the full-back positons.

Chelsea: Begovic, Ivanovic, Zouma, Cahill, Azpilicueta, Matic, Fabregas, Pedro, Oscar, Hazard, Costa

Subs: Blackman, Terry, Mikel, Ramires, Loftus-Cheek, Falcao, Remy

Arsenal: Cech, Bellerin, Gabriel, Koscielny, Monreal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez, Walcott
