Manchester City are preparing a £15m bid for Everton defender Joleon Lescott, according to reports today.
Mark Hughes has long been linked with the England man and is apparently on the verge of launching a big money bid.
Everton are determined to hold on to the 26-year-old and will reject any initial offer for the player.
Toffees manager David Moyes has consistently said that Lescott is not for sale but free-spending City could make an offer too tempting to resist.
Having already signed Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz this summer, the Eastlands outfit are clearly in a financial position to force a deal through.
