Crystal Palace defender Florian Marange has launched a scathing attack on the club he joined just last month, claiming he is “disgusted” with his treatment since he moved to London in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old left-back joined Palace on a free transfer from Ligue 1 club Bordeaux, but he has only featured in the side in the Capital One Cup defeat to Bristol City.
Marange has since been left out of manager Ian Holloway’s 25-man Premier League squad, meaning he can play in reserve matches only until the FA Cup fixtures in January, and he has slammed the Selhurst Park for the way he has been treated.
"I'm disgusted," Marange told French newspaper L'Equipe.
"If I had known this rule, I would have a clause in my contract. But my advisor did not tell me and now I am told that it is almost my fault.
"We lost [at Bristol City] but I was not at fault for the two goals. I have only had seven or eight training sessions. How can you judge a player after 10 days?"
Marange has admitted he could look to leave the club in January after being left out of the squad, and he has also criticised the cost of living in London compared to his former home of Bordeaux.
"I have never been presented to the press, I have never had an official photo and I am still waiting for my club suit," he continued.
"I stayed for 15 days in a hotel before finding somewhere to live and the club told me I had to pick up the bill.
"It is true, I have a proper contract, I earn a little more than Bordeaux but living in London is 10 times more expensive. And I came to play. Either I rip up my contract or I wait until the winter transfer window to find a club."
Marange was not the only new signing to be left out of the squad, with striker Stephen Dobbie also left out of the squad to tackle the Eagles attempt at Premier League survival on their return to the top flight.
Scottish forward Dobbie, who was signed from rivals Brighton and Hove Albion, actually started their first match against Tottenham, but he has been overlooked for the squad after Holloway made 16 new signings this summer.
