Jose Mourinho elects to start three in the centre with Lampard, Luiz and Matic all starting while Palace remain unchaged
Saturday 29 March 2014
Fernando Torres starts up front for Chelsea in place of the injured Samuel Eto’o as Jose Mourinho seemingly goes on the defensive against a physical Crystal Palace side.
Frank Lampard, David Luiz and Nemanja Matic all start in midfield for the Blues to nullify the home side’s attacking threats at Selhurst Park.
Andre Shurrle’s performance in the 6-0 mauling of Arsenal last weekend has earned him another start, with Willian returning to the squad after suspension but only good for the bench, whereas Oscar seats out despite his brace in the victory over the Gunners.
Tony Pulis names an unchanged side from the team that lost to Papiss Cisse’s last minute winner for Newcastle last Saturday.
The team line-ups are…
Crystal Palace: Speroni, Mariappa, Dann, Delaney, Ward, Dikgacoi, Jedinak, Puncheon, Ledley, Bolasie, Jerome.
Subs: Hennessey, Parr, McCarthy, O'Keefe, Bannan, Ince, Murray
Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry (c), Azpilicueta, Lampard, David Luiz, Matic, Schurrle, Torres, Hazard.
Subs: Hilario, Kalas, Mikel, Oscar, Willian, Salah, Ba
