Crystal Palace turned the Premier League form table on its head to battle back from a goal down and beat Tottenham 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening.

Harry Kane scored his 18th goal in all competitions to give Spurs a deserved lead early in the second half after they dominated possession in the first period, but Palace responded brilliantly and earned a penalty through Benjamin Stambouli's challenge on Joe Ledley in the area.

There were certainly questions about the decision, though there was no doubting the goal as Dwight Gayle smashed in the spot-kick to level the scores. It was Palace that pushed on in search of the winner, and they found it when the ball was ragged back to the edge of the area to Jason Puncheon, who swept the ball home first time to secure a brilliant 2-1 comeback victory.

Joe Ledley was on-song for Palace

The result also gave Alan Pardew his first win in his very first Premier League game as Palace manager since taking over the job earlier this month.
