Daniel Levy to overhaul Tottenham's scouting department after they wasted the £86m Gareth Bale money

Tottenham chairman Dainel Levy is set to overhaul the club's scouting and recruitment process because they wasted the £86m brought in from the sale of Gareth Bale.

After selling the Welsh winger to Real Madrid last summer Tottenham have spent all of the Bale money, and more, but failed to reach the Champions League again and have started this season with just 11 points from nine Premier League matches.

Levy, according to the Daily Mail, will now restructure the two departments to help Maurico Pochettino transfer dealings; despite their poor start to the season the new manager is believed to have Levy's full support.

Tottenham's head of analysis Jonathan Beaker has already left the club, while Levy is planning more changes.

Last summer Spurs spent more than £100m on seven players, but of those only Christian Eriksen (bought for £11.5m) can claim to be a success.

Paulinho (£17m), Roberto Soldado (£26m), Nacer Chadli (£6m), Etienne Capoue (£8.5m), Vlad Chiriches (£8.5m) and Erik Lamela (£30m) have all been failures so far.
