David Silva was only fit enough to return to the Manchester City bench as Manuel Pellegrini elected to make one change to his side that defeated Crystal Palace last weekend.

Gael Clichy comes in at left-back for Aleksandar Kolarov, who joins Silva on the bench as Pellegrini refrains from making any further changes in the hunt for the Premier League title. City can ill-afford to slipup given that three wins from their remaining three matches will see the Premier League title return to the Etihad.

Roberto Martinez welcomes back Phil Jagielka, with the England defender recovering from an injury that has kept him sidelined since the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on 22 February. Jagielka replaces Sylvain Distin, who is named on the bench alongside Barcelona teenage starlet Gerard Deulofeu and January signing Aiden McGeady, with Romeulu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and Steven Naismith all starting.

Line-ups:

Everton: Howard, Stones, Jagielka, Alcaraz, Coleman, McCarthy, Osman, Baines, Lukaku, Naismith, Barkley.

Subs: Robles, Hibbert, McGeady, Deulofeu, Distin, Garbutt, Ledson.

Manchester City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Demichelis, Clichy, Milner, Javi Garcia, Toure, Nasri, Dzeko, Aguero.

Subs: Lescott, Negredo, Kolarov, Silva, Fernandinho, Pantilimon, Jovetic.

Referee: Lee Probert (Wiltshire)
