Fabricio Coloccini blow for Newcastle manager Alan Pardew

The Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew, is awaiting news of his captain, Fabricio Coloccini, after the defender suffered an injury on international duty.

The Argentina Football Association said the 30-year-old has a hamstring problem and, although he is staying with the squad, coach Alejandro Sabella has drafted in Leandro Desabato. An Argentina statement said: "Coloccini will travel with the squad to continue treatment with the team doctor."
