First round of Premier League fixtures to be shown on Sky Sports and BT announced - when are your team on TV?

A full list of the fixtures to be shown live on Sky Sports and BT

The first round of Premier League fixtures to be shown on TV have been announced, with Sky Sports seemingly snatching the most appealing fixtures ahead of BT.

On the opening weekend, Sky will air matches involving Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City. Meanwhile, BT's first Premier League match will be Liverpool's home game against Stoke City.

While Sky will be delighted to have stolen a march on their newest rivals, they will also have infuriated the FA and the England set-up with their decision to select Liverpool v Manchester United and Arsenal v Tottenham and show them on Sunday 1 September. The two matches come just days before two crucial World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine and are likely to feature a number of representatives of the national team.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal will then be in action on Sunday, October 6, the former at Norwich and the latter at West Brom, with England due to face Montenegro on the following Friday and Poland four days after that.

The opening weekend will see Sky show David Moyes' first game in charge of Manchester United, an away trip to Swansea on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, a London derby between newly promoted Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur will be shown before Jose Mourinho's first match since returning to Chelsea, a home game against promoted Hull City. On the Monday night, Manuel Pellegrini's first game at home to Newcastle will be aired.

While BT have 18 top picks through the season, they have only used five in the first round of selections. It seems to show with Tottenham v Chelsea, their sixth game of the season, the first to feature a match up between two of the top teams. Before then, Liverpool's game against Stoke, Fulham v Arsenal, Manchester City v Hull City, Manchester United v Crystal Palace and Norwich v Aston Villa will be shown.

It would seem BT are saving their top picks until the latter stages of the season when battle lines have been drawn.

In the fixtures announced, which represents a third of the season and runs until early December, Sky will be showing four games featuring two teams from last season's top four while BT are showing none.
