Fit trio are like 'new signings' says Martinez
Roberto Martinez is relaxed about Wigan's lack of transfer activity in January because of the return of players from injury. Athletic will travel to West Bromwich Albion tonight in the knowledge that a win would lift them out of the relegation zone.
Franco di Santo, James McCarthy and Emmerson Boyce all returned to fitness last month after lengthy injury absences and Martinez believes that this has eliminated the need to enter the transfer market. "Having all those players available is equal to making new signings," he said.
Ali Al Habsi will return to the Wigan side tonight. West Bromwich are expected to start Carlos Vela for the first time since his loan move from Arsenal.
