The Fulham manager, Jean Tigana, has had three players ruled out of tonight's Premiership relegation tussle with West Bromwich Albion at Loftus Road due to hamstring injuries. The winger Luis Boa Morte, the midfielder Sylvain Legwinski and the centre-back Zat Knight are all out with the same injury.

The goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, out since before Christmas with a broken bone in his foot, is waiting to discover whether he can begin his comeback.

West Brom will be without striker Jason Roberts, who starts a three-match suspension after losing his appeal against his sending-off at Manchester City earlier in the month.

Lee Hughes, Danny Dichio and Scott Dobie will be vying for the striking roles as West Brom look for the victory which would put them just one point behind fourth-from-bottom Bolton.

Their midfielder Andy Johnson is ruled out with the broken toe he suffered after coming on as a substitute against Bolton 11 days ago.
