Fulham have offered Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink a £4.5m contract to move from Chelsea, but may face competition from Middlesbrough.
Fulham stunned Hasselbaink with the size of the offer they are willing to pay because he is a "one-off", a free transfer with proven Premiership ability. The striker is in line for a deal worth around £35,000 a week, with bonuses based on appearances and goals.
Fulham were confident of winning the race yesterday but then Hasselbaink's camp spoke to Boro. However, the geography of the move favours Fulham.
