Harry Kane: Tottenham striker named Premier League player of the month for second time in a row after brilliant February

West Brom's Tony Pulis named Manager of the Month

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been named Premier League player of the month for the second successive time.

The 21-year-old becomes just the fourth player to win the award back-to-back after former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler, Dutchman Dennis Bergkamp and Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo achieved the feat during spells in the English top flight.

Kane took his Premier League tally to 14 with four goals in three matches during the month of February, including a match-winning brace in the home victory over north London rivals Arsenal.

The England Under-21 international is widely expected to receive his first senior international call-up next week and hopes to become the first player to win three consecutive player of the month awards after carrying his good form into March.

“To make history would be something very special,” Kane said. “Obviously I’ve scored a couple so far this month.

“Still a few more games to go, so hopefully I’ll get a few more goals and we’ll see what happens, but I’m looking forward to the games ahead.”

West Brom manager Tony Pulis was named Manager of the Month after going unbeaten in February, winning three, including a thumping 4-0 FA Cup win over West Ham.
