New Crystal Palace signing Dwight Gayle in action for the club against Tottenham today

Crystal Palace

Dwight Gayle - £5m from Peterborough United

The club record signing wasn’t overawed by his Premier League debut but was forced to drop deep in search of the ball. Looks to have a bright future if they can provide the service. 7/10

Marouane Chamakh - Free from Arsenal

The Moroccan looked short of fitness when he came on as a substitute with 23 minutes to play but did provide an aerial threat. Palace will need him to improve. 5

Tottenham

Paulinho - £17m from Corinthians

The Brazilian was a composed figure in central midfield and provided a physical shield for his defence. Could become a crucial component of the team. 7

Roberto Soldado - £26m from Valencia

Excellent movement throughout and took his chance from the penalty spot superbly. The Spain international should provide the cutting edge Spurs have craved. 8

Nacer Chadli - £7m from FC Twente

Another new signing with a physical approach, the Belgian showed glimpses of his ability down the left wing and came close to scoring. 7

Etienne Capoue - £9m from Toulouse

Replaced Dembele in the second half and settled into the pace of English football quickly. Will add to the already-strong pool of midfield talent. 6
