How was the season for you?: Manchester City

Tuesday, 13 May 2008

We've got the views of Ric Turner - editor of Blue Moon website.

But how was it for you? Comment at the bottom of this article and have your say on your team's season.

Who has been your best player this season?

Joe Hart has performed with assurance and a maturity that belies his age.

Who would you be glad to see the back of?

Danny Mills picks up this award for the fifth year running.

What was your best performance?

The 2-1 win at Man Utd was impressive, but 3-1 over Newcastle at home showed City at their swashbuckling best.

And the worst?

The 6-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge was a little humiliating.

Who have been your toughest opponents?

Chelsea.

Best player faced?

Dimitar Berbatov in the League Cup.

Funniest/most bizarre moment of the season?

Going out of the FA Cup to a balloon would rank as bizarre, but that’s just run of the mill at City.

Your perfect, but realistic signing?

Diego from Werder Bremen. An outrageously gifted footballer.

Any reasons to be cheerful going into next season?

If Sven Goran Eriksson goes, then no.

Reasons to be gloomy?

We have a chairman who knows less about football than your average Man Utd fan.

Who will you support in Euro 2008?

Switzerland and Croatia for Gelson Fernandes and Vedran “Charlie” Corluka

Overall assessment of your manager?

Eriksson exudes charm, class and authority. The best since Joe Mercer, but our chairman doesn’t recognise that.

And overall assessment of your team?

In the first half of the season we performed admirably. In the second half we’ve struggled to maintain those standards, but our highest Premier League finish and six points off United represents a successful season.

Highest premier league finish? Your chairman may know less about football than the average Utd fan but presumably knows more than you if you cant even remember finishing higher in the league a mere 3 seasons ago!

"our highest Premier League finish and six points off United represents a successful season."

Nice that you judge your standard of success against how well you do in two games against us. We judge ours more on the number of trophies we've won, goals we've scored, teams we've beaten, and the glorious football that we produce in almost every game.

Keep your little victories, we have enough of our own.

champions! we had a great season i am so so proud off tha players. i did not get to see much of the match being from lagos in west africa but i listen to manchester on my radio and enjoy every second. serven goran erik'sson is a new jesus to me for beating chelsea to the league coz chelsea take the nigerian players and put them on the subbench but not manchester we play them. my family save up to come see the vistory parade and have our flights booked this week. god bless the lord for allowing us to achieve this fact. but in nigeria i play for a small side and have many skills and would like to play in england ful time for manchester but i dont mind playing for one of the lesser clubs like west ham if they have me. i want a solid gold car and can only achieve this in england. please let me know if you like this flava
