Jose Mourinho has told PSG and close friends that he will become Manchester United manager this summer, according to reports.

The Mirror also claim that the coach has lined up a deal to bring Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain to Old Trafford.

Mourinho has been linked with Manchester United since being sacked by Chelsea late last year. There is a growing expectation that current boss Louis van Gaal will be removed from his position at the end of the seaon with the Special One coming in to replace him.

Mourinho has been linked with PSG following the French club's elimination from the Champions League, however the reports suggest he is destined for Old Trafford despite the genuine interest.

Should he arrive, he could be joined by Higuain. The Argentina international has reportedly been lined up in a £70m deal. His current club are seeking more but the 28-year-old, who has scored 32 goals this term, is entering the final two years of his contract meaning Napoli may have to accept less or see his value depreciate further.
