Jurgen Klopp has once again refused to give Daniel Sturridge any assurances over his future at Liverpool.

The England striker has endured another injury hit season scoring only eight goals sparking suggestions he could look for a fresh start elsewhere in the summer.

And despite being pushed for an answer Klopp refused point-blank to confirm that the 27-year-old is part of his long-term plans going forward.

“There is nothing to say here first of all," he said during his weekly press conference. "

Even when it would be clear if he leaves or he stays then there's nothing to speak about at the moment.

“It hasn't been an easy season so far but there are still six games to go and he is back.

I’m happy about this. He had an impact when he came on against Stoke.

“We always have to decide after the few sessions he completed, like I said after the game, ‘how long should we force it or try to use his freshness when he is coming on?’

“That is my decision in the end. I don’t think a second about the actual squad for next season.

“We are in this season and around this we plan different things like transfers, as you can imagine, but as to who will leave, we have never thought about it.”
