Liverpool v Chelsea: Crucial Premier League meeting will NOT be switched following Champions League draw

The Blues' game against Sunderland however is set to move

The crucial Premier League encounter between title rivals Liverpool and Chelsea will not be switched following today's Champions League semi-final draw.

With the pair vying for the title alongside Manchester City, the meeting at Anfield is likely to be among the most pivotal in determining where the league trophy ends up.

Yet Chelsea's win over PSG meant there was the prospect of the game being moved to help Jose Mourinho's side.

However, Uefa have announced the dates for Chelsea's semi-final meeting with Atletico Madrid and they mean the game at Anfield will not be moved.

Chelsea will play the first leg in the Spanish capital on Tuesday 22 April and the second leg at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday 30 April.

Mourinho's side are scheduled to play Sunderland at home on Sunday 20 April before Liverpool away the following Sunday.

The Premier League will not make Chelsea play on a Sunday and then a Tuesday, so with the first leg of their semi-final taking place on the Tuesday, it means the game against relegation threatened Sunderland is the match that will be switched.
