Liverpool host Manchester United on Sunday afternoon as their bitter rivalry resumes at Anfield.

With just two points separating the two clubs and a spot in next season's Champions League at stake, a huge amount is riding on the game.

Both managers recorded wins last week but while Manchester United produced one of their best performances of the season, beating Tottenham 3-0 at Old Trafford, Liverpool were ponderous in a 1-0 win at the Liberty Stadium, needing a lucky Jordan Henderson goal to beat Swansea.

A win for either club would be absolutely huge heading into the final weeks of the season.

Louis van Gaal's team took advantage of Liverpool's poor autumn and winter to win 3-0 at Old Trafford in December, but since then Brendan Rodgers has transformed his team, losing only twice in the 23 games since, winning 15 of those.

Both Louis van Gaal (above) and Brendan Rodgers (below) have decisions to make over which team to select this Sunday

Both Van Gaal and Rodgers have selection decisions to make this weekend, with a number of stars returning after injury (making this job that much harder).

For United record signing Angel Di Maria, striker Robin van Persie and left-back Luke Shaw all return, while Steven Gerrard is fully fit for the Reds, who have been playing great football in his absence.

The team has been selected based on the below predicted line-ups.

Liverpool: Mignolet; Can, Skrtel, Sakho; Henderson, Gerrard, Lallana, Moreno; Coutinho, Sterling; Sturridge.

Manchester United: De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, Jones, Blind; Mata, Carrick, Herrera, Young; Fellaini, Rooney.
