Louis van Gaal has confirmed his desire to move to the Premier League after the World Cup.

The 62-year-old will leave his post with Holland once the Brazil tournament is over, in order to return to club management.

With Champions League, Primera Division and Bundesliga titles high on his resume, the former Barcelona coach is likely to be in high demand and he is hoping there is interest from England.

Van Gaal has already been linked with taking over at Tottenham - current boss Tim Sherwood is experiencing some difficulties - while some reports have gone as far as to say he could replace David Moyes at Manchester United.

"My ambition is to coach a top team in the Premier League. I have never experienced the atmosphere in England," he told German newspaper Bild.

Having won titles in Germany, Spain and his native Holland, he added: "I want to win the league title in a fourth country. That's my objective and I want to fulfil it. Either that, or I will retire and move with my wife to Portugal."

Van Gaal, known for running a tight ship, has no desire to return to Germany to manage either.

"Of course, I like the Bundesliga a lot, but I have already won the German title. I now want to win a major trophy in another country," he added.
