Manchester United face their most important match of the season on Sunday when they take on great rivals Liverpool.

Defeat for Louis van Gaal's side will see them slip out of the top four and momentum in the battle for Champions League qualification move to Anfield.

However, victory will provide breathing space between United and the sides below - and could even see a genuine push for second place in the Premier League, a position currently occupied by Manchester City.

Louis van Gaal will have a strong squad to pick from for his first trip to Anfield as Manchester United manager, although that leaves him with some tough calls. Angel Di Maria was suspended last weekend, but despite the absence of United's most expensive player, they played arguably better than they have done all season to beat Tottenham 3-0. Whether he returns to the first XI, probably in place of Juan Mata, will be looked for keenly when the team news comes out.

Here, we take a look at the injuries, suspensions and possible absentees...

Will Manchester United beat Liverpool? Will they finish in the top four? Let us know in the comments below.
