Louis van Gaal will be desperately hoping one of his central midfield players are fit to return for Manchester United's trip to Everton this weekend.

In the Red Devils' last outing, the captain was deployed further back and was unable to make the impact he might have done had he played in attack as United drew a blank in the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.

A few players are moving into contention having missed recent games, with Robin van Persie pushing for a starting berth at Goodison Park after being named as an unused substitute for last Sunday's game at Stamford Bridge.

Here, we take a look at those who could be missing from Sunday's Premier League encounter.
