Manchester United v Aston Villa team news: David Moyes refuses to bow to pressure as he sticks with Marouane Fellaini over Ryan Giggs

Giggs has not started a match since starring in the 3-0 win over Olympiakos while Fellaini is currently being investigated for an alleged spit at Pablo Zabaleta

David Moyes has not succumb to the pressure surrounding him to drop under fire Marouane Fellaini in favour of many people’s first team pick Ryan Giggs ahead of Manchester United’s early Saturday kick off against Aston Villa.

The Belgian midfielder is currently going through an FA investigation for allegedly spitting at Manchester City’s Pablo Zabaleta during Tuesday night’s Manchester derby but does start today.

Nemanja Vidic has returned from suspension but Tom Cleverley is out of the squad. Shinji Kagawa comes in for Danny Welbeck and there are also starts for Darren Fletcher and Ashley Young as Moyes looks to bounce back from the 3-0 home defeat at the hands of their most bitter of rivals last time out.

For Aston Villa, Andreas Weimann has recovered from the dead leg that saw him go off within the first half hour of last weekend’s woeful defeat to Stoke and Marc Albrighton also comes into the starting line-up.

The team line ups are as follows…

Manchester United: De Gea; Rafael, Jones, Vidic, Buttner; Young, Fellaini, Fletcher, Kagawa; Mata, Rooney.
