Javier Hernandez started in place of the injured Wayne Rooney as Ryan Giggs looked to record his second win as Manchester United manager against Sunderland.

Giggs left himself out of the match day squad for the match against the relegation-threatened Black Cats, who named the same team that beat Cardiff 4-0 last weekend.
