Mesut Ozil contract: German playmaker denies new deal agreed with Arsenal, but says he is 'very happy' at the club

The Gunners' £42.5m record signing has been in phenomenal form this season

Mesut Ozil has denied that he has agreed a new contract with Arsenal, but the German playmaker did say that is currently "very happy" in London.

The £42.5m man has been in incredible form this season, making 15 assists in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old's contract runs out in 2018, and there have been reports that the Gunners have offered him a lucrative new deal. Ozil, however, denies there have been talks but says that he "feels great" with the league leaders.

"There is no rush to sign a new contract," Ozil told Kicker.

"My current deal runs until 2018. That is still two-and-a-half years. There are no talks at the moment.

"I can only say that I am very happy in London. My decision to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal was the right one.

"There has not been a single day, apart from whenever I was injured, that I did not feel great here."
