It’s a big game for…

Alvaro Negredo. The former Man City marksman got his Boro career off to a superb start with a goal against Stoke on the opening day. However, the Spaniard has not added to that number since then and many fans have questioned Aitor Karanka’s decision to keep starting him in favour of big-money signing Jordan Rhodes. Saturday would be the ideal time to silence any doubters

Best stat…

Middlesbrough shot-stopper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos has the longest name of any player in the Premier League (24 characters).

Remember when…

The two teams shared six goals in an entertaining draw in September 2013? Brett Pitman tucked home a penalty in the fourth minute before he doubled the Cherries’ advantage less than eight minutes later. Middlesbrough got themselves back into the game relatively quickly through goals from Kei Kamara and Mustapha Carayol and seemed to have staged a remarkable turnaround with a 75th-minute strike from Grant Leadbitter. However, a Jonathan Woodgate own goal saw hopes of three points dashed.

Player to watch…

Callum Wilson. Netted five goals at the beginning of last season before rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament, which left him sidelined for six months. However, he seems to be slowly getting back to his best, with three goals in his nine appearances so far this term.
