A Newcastle United supporter group is claiming that St James' Park will see one of football's biggest ever protests on Saturday.

Anonymous website claim that more than 200 banners and 15,000 A4 cards will be brought into the ground for the game at Hull City in an attempt to force Mike Ashley to sack current manager Alan Pardew.

"We have 200 banners that are currently being completed at printers around the city," a spokesman told the Evening Chronicle.

"They are small enough to conceal so we can get them into the stadium, but we don’t want to go down that road.

"We have contacted the club to let them know our plans and are still waiting to hear back from them."

Many pubs in Newcastle are said to be involved in the protest, handing out leaflets before kick-off.

Similar banners were seen at St Mary's last weekend.
