Pablo Zabaleta wins red card appeal
Friday 07 January 2011
Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta has won his appeal against the red card he was shown on Wednesday night at Arsenal.
The Argentinian defender was sent off in the final moments of the 0-0 draw after squaring up to Gunners defender Bacary Sagna.
Both players saw red, with Arsenal ruling out an appeal against Sagna's dismissal after admitting the player had been overly aggressive.
The successful appeal means Zabaleta will now be available for City's FA Cup clash against Leicester City and former boss Sven-Goran Eriksson on Sunday.
