Premier League: Aston Villa v Norwich City match preview

A look ahead to this weekend's Premier League fixture at Villa Park

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert comes up against his former club Norwich City for the first time on Saturday with both teams desperate for a win.

The 43-year-old Scottish manager would love nothing more than taking all three points against his old charges to move away from the drop zone.

Norwich will be buoyed by their impressive win over Arsenal last week and Chris Hughton’s side will be aiming to show their former boss that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

KICK-OFF: Saturday, 12.45pm

PAST THREE MEETINGS…

Norwich 2 (Jackson, Holt) Aston Villa 0, Premier League, May 2012

Aston Villa 3 (Bent 2, Agbonlahor) Norwich 2 (Pilkington, Morison), Premier League, November 2011

Aston Villa 3 (Ridgewell, Hendrie, Solano) Norwich 0, Premier League, January 2005

CLASSIC MATCH...

Last season's bonfire night encounter at Villa Park saw current out-of-favour striker Darren Bent score a brace as Villa were 3-2 victors over Paul Lambert's Canaries.
