The Premier League fixtures were released today marking the spiritual passage from 2014/15 to 2015/16.

The old maxim is that each team in the division plays every other twice, home and away, but the reality is that fortunes and careers can be decided by short spells - both easy and tough - in a season.

Get off to a bad start and a manager and his players are immediately under pressure, while a good start can buy some time or help build momentum for a good season.

Supporters look first for their rivals and the crucial festive period of games, as well as their run in.
