Scott Arfield and Ashley Westwood make way for Sam Vokes and Aaron Lennon, who makes his first Premier League start for his new side.

Manchester City name only six players on their bench, yes six, yes Manchester City. On the pitch, Danilo, Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan return to the starting eleven with new record signing Aymeric Laporte having to make do with a seat on the bench.

Last Time

Burnley had a miserable afternoon at the Etihad when these two sides met in the Premier League earlier in the season. City enjoyed 78% of the ball and goals from Sergio Aguero, Nicolas Otamendi and Leroy Sane rounded off a poor afternoon for Sean Dyche's side who failed to register a shot on target.

"We were lucky"

Bernardo Silva is the latest from the Manchester City camp to seek more protection from referees.

Kick off

1: And we're off. Manchester City get things underway at a rainy Turf Moor.

Burnley 0-0 Manchester City

4: Not a huge deal of action in the first couple of minutes. Vincent Kompany has already imposed himself on Ashley Barnes who takes some time to get to his feet after losing an aerial duel.

Burnley 0-0 Manchester City

5: City win a corner and Nicolas Otamendi heads on at the front post to Vincent Kompany who directs a header to goal but it is saved. In his attempts to stop Kompany, Phil Bardsley has taken a knock, remind me, which team needs greater protection from referees?

10: Burnley are, as expected, defending well. City are looking at Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker to find an opening on the right wing but space is very limited.
