Elsewhere, champions Leicester City travel to Stoke City, Middlesbrough entertain Swansea City and basement club Sunderland look for a much-needed three points against Watford.

Deeney has wasted an opportunity after beating the offside trap - all he had to do was pull it back into the box but his pass was sloppy and Sunderland regain possession.

GOAL

The deadlock has been broken at the Riverside. The ball goes into the box and Negredo manages to bury it into the back of the net with a left footed strike. It's a tremendous strike that shows impeccable striking ability from the 31-year-old.

Foreshaw comes inside and gets taken down inside of the box - there's no question about it, that's a penalty. 

Negredo steps up to the spot to double his tally. It's a composed strike that sends the keeper the wrong way. Swansea have got a mountain to climb.
