Liverpool will be hoping to find some form and put in a convincing performance following a week of drama and European disappointment.

Hull on the other hand will travel to Merseyside full of confidence following their impressive performance against Arsenal last weekend.

Steve Bruce spoke after the game of his disappointment on conceding a last minute equaliser at The Emirates but the Hull manager was more than pleased with his side’s spirited performance. Bruce will be hoping to see a repeat of this going into Saturday’s fixture at Anfield as they look to capitalise on any European hangover that the Reds may be suffering from.

Brendan Rodgers has a big job on his hands as he attempts to motivate his side after a Real drubbing on Wednesday night. Liverpool were also less than convincing in their last Premier League encounter at QPR, with Rodgers admitting that Redknapp’s side probably deserved something from the game. The Reds will have to rectify their shortcomings all over the pitch if they hope to remain in the top four this season.

Liverpool find themselves nine points off the lead after just eight games and anything other than a win on Saturday will be deemed as a major setback.
