Manchester United’s audacious capture of Radamel Falcao on deadline day caught the attention of world football. Manager Louis van Gaal’s potential frontline of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Falcao is one that will leave QPR boss Harry Redknapp with a headache, but the question remains – can Van Gaal get the balance right?

Also added to United’s squad since their last fixture is Dutch defender Danny Blind, while Argentinian defender Marcos Rojo has been granted a visa following his move from Sporting. Van Gaal has now got the players to exploit his favoured 3-5-2 formation, which he enjoyed success with during the World Cup with the Netherlands. A win against QPR would help to settle any early season nerves at Old Trafford - the Red Devils had not had the best of starts, and find themselves in 14th position in the Premier League.

Queens Park Rangers meanwhile have also had a busy transfer window, with Redknapp adding deadline day signings Sandro and Kranjcar to the eight other new faces at Loftus Road. A lack of goals will be a worry for QPR, and the departure of Loic Remy to Chelsea will do nothing to help the cause. Rangers have only scored once this season, but despite this find themselves in twelfth, above United.

Manchester United have not been easy opponents for QPR in recent years though, with the Red Devils winning 12 of the last 13 games between the sides.
