Every week, The Independent's digital sports team picks out the key players, performances and talking points from the weekend's Premier League action.

Jack De Menezes and Tom Sheen look at Arsenal's worst start to a season in 32 years after they lost 2-1 against Manchester United at the Emirates. The Gunners have only managed 17 points from their first 12 games and are now 15 points off the top.

The leaders, Chelsea, easily overcame West Brom at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Diego Costa and Eden Hazard. The Blues are now unbeaten in their first 12 matches.

While Chelsea are clearly improving from last season, Liverpool look nothing like last year's side. Despite a good start against Crystal Palace with an early Rickie Lambert strike, goals from Dwight Gayle, Joe Ledley and Mile Jedinak helped Neil Warnock's side score another three goals against Brendan Rodgers' side at Selhurst Park.

Meanwhile, Burnley registered their second straight win against Stoke, despite Mark Hughes' team enjoying 73% of the possesion. They had 25 shots on goal but only managed three on target.
