Ray Wilkins back at Craven Cottage as Fulham's new assistant manager
Fulham will appoint the 57-year-old Ray Wilkins today as assistant to Rene Meulensteen after the club’s 6-0 defeat to Hull. It is the second English name brought in by the club since the appointment of Meulensteen as manager last month. Last week they hired former Charlton and West Ham manager Alan Curbishley as technical director
Wilkins, who was briefly manager at Craven Cottage in 1997, last worked as Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant at Chelsea – he left in December 2010.
It is hoped that, along with Curbishley, Wilkins’ knowledge of English football will help strengthen the squad in January.
