Derby's new signing Laurent Robert has insisted he never had any doubts about returning to "the best league in the world".
The controversial French winger has agreed to join Paul Jewell's Pride Park revolution and could make his Rams debut against Wigan on Saturday, subject to international clearance.
The midfielders Robbie Savage and Hossam Ghaly are also on the verge of joining, and the manager Jewell has also claimed that he is close to bringing in a goalkeeper after injuries to Stephen Bywater and Lewis Price.
While former Newcastle and Portsmouth winger Robert will bring creativity to the side, Jewell has also shown his determination to add bite by bringing in the combative Savage from Blackburn Rovers. A fee has been agreedand Savage was in Derby yesterday to discuss terms, with a deal likely today.
Ghaly, the 26-year-old Egypt midfielder who has fallen out of favour at Spurs, has pulled out of African Nations Cup preparations in an attempt to secure a move, but any deal will be subject to a work permit.
