Southampton vs Liverpool team news: Adam Lallana starts against his old club
Southampton can go third in the Premier League with a win this evening
Former Southampton star Adam Lallana will start against his previous club for Liverpool's trip to St Mary's today.
The England midfielder was greeted by boos as he exited Liverpool's team coach and Southampton's former academy product can expect an even frostier welcome when the game begins.
Liverpool beat today's hosts 2-1 at Anfield thanks to goals from Raheem Sterling, who returns today from a foot injury, and Daniel Sturridge, who makes the bench.
Saints manager Ronald Koeman's cause is boosted by the returning Morgan Schneiderlin (adductor injury) and Shane Long (fractured ribs) but they won't start.
The Reds, who have former Saint Dejan Lovren starting, would move just two points off of fourth place and three behind The Saints with a win.
