Tim Sherwood sacked: Statistics show Sherwood was most successful Tottenham manager in Premier League era

"My record here is second to none," raved Tim Sherwood. "My win percentage is the best of any Tottenham manager. I'm the best manager this club's ever seen!" Five weeks later, Spurs have sacked thier manager.

Sherwood made the tongue-in-cheek comment after the 5-1 victory over Sunderland at the beginning of April, but just over a month later, he is looking for a new job after the club sacked him.

But does Sherwood, who has been much criticised since he took over from Andre Villas-Boas last December by the club's supporters', actually have a point?

This season alone in the Premier League, Sherwood has a far superior win percentage than his predecessor Andre Villas-Boas.

Sherwood signed an 18-month contract with the club after replacing Villas-Boas in mid-December, but club chairman Daniel Levy has confirmed that the club have executed a break clause in his contract that means they can part company with the 45-year-old at the end of the season.

Since the departure of executive chairman Nicolas Cortese, the man who brought Pochettino to the club, there have been question marks over his future.

The former England manager has been out of work since leaving his role as Wolverhampton Wanderers boss in 2006 and has openly expressed his desire to manage Tottenham Hotspur once again. He wasn't shy of criticising Sherwood either.
