Financial strife fails to dim smiles at high-flying Rayo Vallecano

Toulouse are expected to demand a huge fee from Tottenham for France youngster Moussa Sissoko.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has looked at Sissoko as well as Patrick Vieira to bolster his midfield and also asked Real Madrid about Lassana Diarra, who has seen Xabi Alonso's arrival add to the competition at the Bernabeu.

Toulouse have been widely reported in France to want around £25m for Sissoko, who has recently been called up to the France squad.

There is increasing confidence that the 19-year-old will feature for his current club when the Ligue 1 season starts at the weekend.

"I'm getting on with it," Sissoko told France Football. "I continue to work hard and not think about it too much, even if this interest clearly makes me happy.

"Apparently there has been an offer but Toulouse have never spoken to me about a concrete proposition."

Sissoko does have ambitions to eventually play in the Premier League.

"I would like to play one day in England," he said. "It is the league that I appreciate the most and which suits my game the best. But I am in no hurry to leave. I have nothing against staying a year longer at Toulouse."

Meanwhile, Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes claims plenty of clubs are interested in him, even though he is happy at White Hart Lane.

"I think I had a very good second half to last season, but the club decides my future, I don't decide these things," he said in the Tottenham Journal.

"When Tottenham don't need me, many clubs want me. They call me all the time but I want to stay here."
