Tottenham offer David Pleat scouting role
Friday 07 October 2011
Former Tottenham manager David Pleat has been offered a scouting job at the north London club, Press Association Sport understands.
Pleat, who has managed the club on four separate occasions - three of them as caretaker - has been offered the chance to rejoin the ranks at White Hart Lane in a role that would see him scout players in Britain and abroad for Harry Redknapp's team.
The 66-year-old, who also works as a media pundit, has recently been working as a football consult for Nottingham Forest but stepped down from the role last week.
Meanwhile, it is understood that Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone will undergo an operation on his injured ankle today.
The 24-year-old had surgery on the same injury last year, but his ankle failed to heal properly and the problem resurfaced six weeks ago following Spurs' 5-1 defeat to Manchester City - his last game for the club.
Huddlestone is expected to be out of action for some time because of the injury, although the form of Sandro and new signing Scott Parker, and the emergence of youngster Jake Livermore, means Spurs have been able to cope without the former Derby man recently.
Diving in at the deep end is no excuse for shirking the style stakes
