Arsenal have made one changed to the side that beat Aston Villa 5-0 as Danny Welbeck returns to the starting line-up in place of Theo Walcott for the north London derby against Spurs.

It means that Olivier Giroud leads the attack, and will be ably supported by Mesut Özil, Santi Cazorla and a fit again Welbeck, who hasn’t played since the 28 December victory over West Ham. Walcott drops to the bench, having reportedly been caught in traffic on his way to White Hart Lane, although it has not been confirmed whether manager Arsene Wenger would drop the winger regardless.

Arsenal's new signing Gabriel Paulista will have to wait for his first start after being named on the bench, but could come on to make his debut after completing his £13.5m move last month.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino makes two changes to the side that beat West Brom last time out, with Eric Dier replacing Federico Fazio in defence while Nabil Bentaleb returns to the midfield in place of Paulimho.

Nabil Bentaleb (centre) celebrates scoring for Spurs

Bentaleb goes straight back into the side having only returned from African Cup of Nations duty this week following Algeria’s elimination, while Dier starts his first league game since the 2-1 win over Sunderland on 17 January.
