Less than 70 hours after the official end of their 57-game season, Tottenham Hotspur claimed another victory today – beating Malaysia All-Stars 2-1 in Kuala Lumpur.

Harry Kane, fresh from a record-breaking 31-goal season, continued his form with both goals before half-time, tapping home on 18 minutes after a Tom Carroll effort had been turned onto the post before the same player fed Kane again at the end of a swift attack to put the English side 2-1 ahead three minutes before the break.

Thiago Juninho had briefly levelled the scores on the half hour, heading home Mahyuddin's set-piece via a deflection off Danny Rose.

Tottenham fielded a strong side for the 6,500-mile trip, with Hugo Lloris, Jan Vertonghen, DeAndre Yedlin, Andros Townsend and Christian Eriksen all starting, while Nabil Bentaleb, Nacer Chadli and record signing Erik Lamela all entered the fray in the second half.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who finished fifth in the Premier League, now travel to Australia to face Sydney in another lucrative post-season friendly on Saturday before returning home – 10,500 miles away.
